Eyes on Me, book two of Sara Cate’s Salacious Players’ Club series, has been high on my TBR ever since I devoured Praise (you can read my review here) and couldn’t get enough of it. I knew Eyes on Me featured a taboo age gap relationship between step-siblings and the camgirl/voyeur tropes, so I was already looking forward to it, but it’s like Sara Cate kept upping the ante with more delicious tropes as the book progressed. I couldn’t put it down.

Eyes on Me by Sara Cate (Salacious Players’ Club Book Two)
Synopsis:
Garrett Porter, a founder of the Salacious Players’ Club, likes to watch. He’s a voyeur. In fact, he’d rather watch than participate. It’s how he finds himself scrolling through an Only Fans-esque app, captivated by a familiar face and blond hair. Garrett and his stepsister, Mia, have never gotten along. She’s the last person he should be watching undress—never mind chatting to—but he can’t help himself. Soon, they’re under the same roof at their parents’ lake house, and the temptation to do more than watch is unbearable. With secrets to burn, Garrett is playing with fire…
There’s a twinkle of trouble in her eye. Then she snatches the beer out of my hand and raises it to her lips. Just watching the way her throat works as she swallows the liquid down, I realize I’m in big, big trouble.
My Review:
Sara Cate never disappoints. Eyes on Me was absolutely delicious.
First up, for those of you who are on the fence about the whole stepbrother/stepsister scenario, let’s clear the air. While Mia and Garrett are stepsiblings, they didn’t grow up together. When their parents got married she was eight while he was twenty-one and had already moved out. But from the start, they never got along. Garrett has always viewed her as the bratty little stepsister, and while she’s been attracted to him from the moment she discovered boys, the only way she could get his attention was to constantly get under his skin.
Change of Scenery
I really enjoyed the change of setting for the first half of the book. Garrett, typically a workaholic, can’t get Mia’s online performance out of his head and decides to join his parents at the lake house—which places him under the same roof as Mia. Between Garrett’s mother’s meddling (she’s tired of their constant bickering and wants them to get along), and their own magnetic attraction, these two can’t stay away from each other. There’s stand-up paddleboard yoga and secluded trails, and these two seem to find themselves alone in the house a whole bunch. When we return to the city and the Salacious Players’ Club for the second half, it feels like coming home.
As she gazes up into my eyes, I know she’s thinking what I’m thinking. If we’re doing this to get it out of our systems, we’re fucked—because this feels too good to quit.
Fear of Being Vulnerable
This is something many of us can relate to. It’s part of why Garrett prefers to watch; it’s safer that way. Also, he genuinely has difficulty connecting to other people, so at some point he gave up trying and became resigned to life on the sidelines. It’s really beautiful to see him open up to Mia via the app, even if it’s through the anonymous safety of a fake username. Of course, we all know this ruse will come back to bite him in the ass, and it’s deliciously spine-tingling waiting for it to happen.
Body Positivity / Self-Confidence
Body positivity is a powerful theme throughout Sara Cate’s works, and Mia is an inspiration. She was once self-conscious about her body since she is not ‘model thin’ (again, hardcore relatable). But through her work as a camgirl, she discovered she turned men on just by being herself and accepting her body, flaws and all, and embracing her sexuality. Her raw self-confidence throughout the story is incredible.
Mental Health
I applaud this story for its mental health rep. Garrett has depression, and it plagues him throughout the story with negative self-talk and low self-esteem. It was quite the journey to see how it affects him, both in the present and in the past, when he hit rock bottom. It’s also heartwarming to see him with great friends who support him, even through his darkest days.
Final Thoughts:
Eyes on Me is another captivating installment in the compelling Salacious Players’ Club series. The characters and their struggles are fantastic, the relationship progression is so satisfying, and the spicy scenes are A+. Each of these books serves up something fresh and interesting, exploring different kinks and taboo topics, and I can’t wait to continue my journey with book three, Give Me More (Hunter, Isabel, and Drake’s story). {Update: My review for Give Me More and Mercy.}

Author Stalking (but not in a creepy way):
Sara Cate has an impressive backlist of deliciously steamy contemporary romance novels (and there are more on the way).
