Mail Order Minotaur by Lilith Stone is the first book in the Motham City Monsters series. Each book features a human who falls for a monster. While each installment can be read as a standalone, the characters are interconnected (and let’s be real, you’re gonna want to read them all). If you love fluffy romance with excellent world-building, this has your name on it.

Mail Order Minotaur by Lilith Stone (Motham City Monsters Book 1)
Synopsis:
Strait-laced tour guide Ivy may have a thing for minotaurs, but she follows the rules and plays it safe with her tours of Motham City. Until she doesn’t. When a sudden detour turns into disaster, she’s rescued by handsome minotaur Bryn—who happens to run an escort agency. She can’t get him out of her mind, but paying for his services wouldn’t be proper. And while Bryn isn’t looking for love—he doesn’t believe in soulmates and is too busy looking after his siblings and disabled mother—he can’t get the pretty young woman out of his head.
My Review:
Mail Order Minotaur is a sweet and cozy read filled with intrigue. There are so many things to love. First, let’s talk about the cover. Isn’t it gorgeous? Everything about it speaks to me, from Bryn’s piercings and suggestive hand placement to Ivy’s cute little uniform. Her facial expression is everything. It’s such a fitting image for what you get inside.
I love when books have maps, and there’s a detailed map inside of Motham City and the surrounding areas (and yes, I’ve got my keen eye on trained on Orc Island while rubbing my greedy hands together in anticipation of future books).
Another favorite thing is when stories take unexpected turns. There’s a twist in this one that I DID NOT see coming, and it’s fab!
I hear there tails are very sensitive. So don’t accidentally touch it in passing or you might send your ‘mentor’ wild.
World-Building
I love the world-building throughout the story. Motham City is a walled-in city where the monsters live. They were expected to fight to the death, but instead cooperated and now have a growing economy and cater to human tourists, much to the chagrin of those who walled them in. The story is set far into the future (according to the city map, Motham City was established in 48350). Some things have changed (they have flying cars), while others have not (class disparity, prejudice). I love the details about the infrastructure within Motham City and the different species of monsters introduced (orcs, vampires, werewolves, demons, mermaids, and gargoyles, to name a few). Lilith Stone has created excellent source material upon which to base many stories, and I am here for it.
Ivy focused her orgasm-drunk eyes on the bright shiny foil packet he held up. “Labyrinth,” she read. Is that the name of the brand?”
“Extra Large. For minotaurs.”
Excellent Characters
I loved both Ivy and Bryn so much. Ivy is uptight and upper-class, but she’s far from typical. The last thing she wants is to return to her snooty hometown of Tween, marry a doctor, and have babies. She craves adventure and independence. Meeting Bryn and learning more about Motham City is an eye-opening experience for Ivy that proves life-changing.
Bryn is serious book boyfriend material. He’s gorgeous (I love all his piercings), he’s a gentleman, and he’s loyal to his family. His treatment of Ivy and his close-knit family are all swoon-worthy. I appreciated his struggles, both financial and emotional, and especially his worries over his mother’s deteriorating condition, coupled with grief for his father, and the challenge of helping to raise his siblings.
Bryn ordered the dessert and two spoons from the waiter, his voice deep and gravelly, like they were planning some intimate sexual act, not a shared dessert.
Final Thoughts:
Mail Order Minotaur is a sweet and tender romance (with plenty of spice) that’s perfect for when your heart needs a hug. I’m excited to read more from this series. I’ve already bought book two, The Gargoyle Grinch, and can’t wait to read it later this month. Book three, The Billionaire Orc, is available for preorder.

Update: I’ve read and loved book two, The Gargoyle Grinch. Christmas was chaotic and I didn’t have time to do a full blog post, but you can read my mini-review here.
