Synopsis:
When Olivia, Quinn, and Pandora get together for a weekend trip, it’s supposed to be filled with hot chocolate, nail polish, and funny stories. The last thing Olivia expects is to be abducted by aliens. But then they crash-land on an alien planet and are captured by traders intent on selling them as slaves. A large orc guards them, and Olivia can’t ignore the way he looks at her, nor how that makes her feel.
She made a prostesting noise, and he realized that he had unconsciously started to knead the soft curve of her ass with his hand at the memory. He immediately stopped, but he didn’t go so far as removing it. After all, he didn’t want her to fall.
My Review:
One of the many things I love about Honey Phillips’ Alien Abduction series is that while the abducted females are vulnerable (because they’re in a new environment) they aren’t damsels in distress. Each one is plucky and brings skills to the table.
Sassy Heroine
Olivia is the type of friend who looks out for her besties and won’t rely on anyone else. So when they crash-land on a strange planet, and it seems the traders who have captured them are intent on selling the three women, she’s the one planning escape routes. Unfortunately, this creates more problems. An alien world isn’t a place to go off alone. But at least she has orc warrior Baldric on her side.
Language Barrier
The aliens have advanced technology that enables them to communicate regardless of language. Unfortunately, Olivia hasn’t been outfitted with that technology, so she and Baldric must communicate with gestures. Learning to trust without the benefit of language makes for a fun and interesting read.
He kept his hands on her arms as he stared down at her, then shook his head and muttered something. She had a strong suspicion it was something along the lines of, ‘What am I going to do with you?’ It wouldn’t be the first time someone had said it to her.
Teddy Bear Orc
Baldric is an alien, but he looks like the orcs of human legend, so Olivia calls him an orc. He’s instantly taken with Olivia and will do anything to protect her. I love how patient he is with her (okay, he spanks her when she misbehaves, but overall he’s patient). Initially, she’s resistant and does anything in her power to get away. All the while, she’s aroused by him, but he’s a gentleman and doesn’t pressure her.
He’d never seen someone quite like her before—with the fiery hair of the goddess and eyes the deep gold of a mountain argal.
Past Wounds
Both Baldric and Olivia have past wounds that affect the present. Olivia is so used to depending on only herself that it’s hard for her to trust and accept help. Baldric left his home after clashing with his family, but returning home and facing his past is necessary to help Olivia search for her friends.
Final Thoughts:
Olivia and the Orc is a fun read that has left me wanting more. I can’t wait to find out what happens to Quinn and Pandora in Quinn and the Queller and Pandora and the Prisoner.
