Synopsis:

The night before a business trip, all Katarina wants is to blow off a little steam and have a good time. The Broken Crown bar caters to Metas and humans. The alcohol flows, the music is loud, and debauchery spills through the open doors out into the night. It seems like the perfect place to scratch her itch. When Sid the bartender, a sexy Shadow Fae with tentacles made of darkness, catches her eye, Katarina only expects a one-off. She doesn’t expect to catch feelings—not for the fae, and certainly not for Sid’s semi-feral werewolf roommate.

Everything made me think of her. The chair I’d sat on during the after-lunch meetings had been hard, and I’d fought the need to fidget as my abused pussy ached and phantom tentacles whispered over me.

My Review:

Tentacles and Teeth is a spicy slice of life, porn without plot story. Usually I like more plot with my smut, but I enjoyed this because I got swept away with the world-building. Merrick creates a sense of this big world in which Metas and humans coexist, using their powers to complement one another. For example, Metas use crystals to power electrical grids that humans can access, since they can’t tap into the same primal powers that Metas use. I’m also a sucker for elaborate descriptions of food. Lemme tell you, the picnics, dinners, and desserts described within are orgasmic.

One of my favorite things is the idea of Shadow Fae and that Sid’s tentacles are made of darkness. That is such an interesting concept, and I devoured it whole. And then we get to the smut, which is smoking. I love that we get lots of one-on-one time between Sid and Katarina (they have excellent chemistry) and Katarina and Fenn, plus times when Sid and Fenn worked together to pleasure Katarina. Interestingly, Fenn and Sid consider each other to be like family and aren’t attracted to one another. While they have no qualms about sharing Katarina, they do not touch each other.

Body positivity is a theme throughout, and I loved Katarina’s confidence and self-love. I also loved how Sid and Fenn worshiped her, both for her body and her mind. I’m definitely interested in this world and would consider reading more.

Her hands came up, fisting in my shirt to pull me closer. Snarling, I tilted my head and sealed my mouth more firmly over hers, tangling our tongues together as her taste called to my hunger with a siren’s song.
