Okay, so I didn’t just read the Siren Cove series—I inhaled it. I had other books to read, but once I started this series, I couldn’t stop. They are quick reads and highly addictive. Although they all feature an M/M romance between a werewolf and a siren, every book brings something different to the table. Each installment is its own complete story, but there’s an overarching plot involving the Alpha Prime—the grand leader of multiple wolf packs—determined to secure land, and power, and maintain his tyrannical rule over everyone in his territory and beyond.
Owing to the circumstances that bring the wolves and sirens together, I’d consider this Fated Mates. But it’s not instalove. Each relationship requires work to build trust and move beyond prejudice and personal baggage.
These stories will warm you through and through with their themes of love, companionship, and found family.
Note: I’ve aimed to keep this review spoiler-free, but you may find the brief descriptions of the plot in subsequent books to be spoiler-y. If this might bother you, you may want to read those reviews after reading the previous books.

The Siren Cove Series by Claire Cullen
Siren Cove Book 1: Forbidden

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Synopsis:
The siren species is in decline. Upon their father’s death, Jonah’s brothers, Harlan and Theo, depart the Cove and turn their back on their siren heritage. But Jonah refuses to leave. As a small-town vet, he’s accepted his lot in life—to live a solitary existence (where he must keep his siren side a secret) surrounded by the animals who need him.
When Magnar, the Alpha Prime, decimates Nate’s pack, the alpha wolf crams his remaining wounded and grieving wolves into two cars and seeks to start over. The Forbidden Zone—an area off limits to wolves, with stories of deadly creatures capable of killing wolves—may be their only chance to survive. It’s the one place Magnar hopefully won’t visit.
When Nate meets Jonah, his ‘human’ neighbour, it’s lust at first sight. But the feeling isn’t mutual. Jonah can scent that Nate is a werewolf and is determined to run him and his pack out of the Cove at any cost. But when Nate brings an injured wolf cub to Jonah, he can’t turn him away—even if Nate’s presence might mean revealing his secret.
It was an old joke. If humans were afraid of werewolves, then what were werewolves afraid of?”
My Review:
This story immediately drew me in, and I could not put it down. Nate’s determination—both to provide a fresh start for his pack and to win over Jonah—made me smile. This was such a heartwarming ‘will they or won’t they’ romance. I loved the pack dynamics within Nate’s crew and how Jonah and the wolves slowly began to let down their guard, open up, and trust one another. Forbidden is a promising start for the series. I immediately bought the next one…

Synopsis
Sam, an omega wolf promised to Magnar, runs away to start a new life in the city. But it’s hard being alone, and he must be careful not to draw attention to himself lest his pack find out where he is.
Harlan desperately needs a new assistant. When Sam arrives in his office, Harlan can smell he’s a werewolf and knows he should send him packing. The longer he remains, the greater the risk he may discover Harlan’s fishy little secret. The trouble is, Sam is hands-down the best assistant Harlan has ever had. He’s also incredibly attractive and a bit of a brat. When wolves appear, determined to bring Sam back to Magnar, Harlan jumps into action and brings Sam back home to The Cove. And that’s when the real trouble begins…
You’re trouble, aren’t you,” Harlan threw back. “With a capital T. Should’ve sent you back to the agency the moment I laid eyes on you…”
My Review:
So, Hidden is Harlan’s book, and I’ll admit I didn’t much like Harlan and Theo in book one (it’s kinda hard to like them when you’re Team Jonah+Nate). But I instantly warmed up to him over his ‘confusing’ attraction to Sam and ended up loving this story. It’s mentioned early on that Sam has a secret—one that, if discovered, could get him killed—and let me tell you, I’m all over that. I love secrets. It makes me rub my greedy little hands together and read faster in eager anticipation (and as far as secrets go, it’s a good one!). I really loved seeing the progression of Sam and Harlan’s relationship. The way Harlan struggled with his feelings for Sam versus his prejudice towards the wolves made for excellent character development. This is easily one of my favourite books in the series.

Synopsis:
Magnar’s pack finds a siren caught in a fishing net and holds him captive. It’s alpha wolf Jeremy’s (Nate’s cousin) job to stand guard and make sure he doesn’t escape. But the siren isn’t doing well. He’s barely responsive and running a fever, and Jeremy can’t stand by and watch him die. He forms a plan and escapes with the siren, but Magnar’s wolves are hot on their trail so they can’t travel to the Cove. They head for Theo’s empty beach house instead.
Siren Aden has spent so many years all alone at sea that his human form feels completely foreign. He’s forgotten how to shift and how to speak. Sick and dying, he’s tended to by an attractive wolf. Can these two bridge the gap between their worlds? Can Jeremy melt the ice surrounding Aden’s heart?
You know, if you don’t start talking soon, I’ll have to do something drastic and choose a name for you. And, I have to warn you, Ariel is the only mermaid name I know.”
My Review:
This was an enjoyable read. Jeremy was introduced earlier in the series, and it was great to get to know him and Aden in this installment. I loved the slow progression of Jeremy nursing Aden back to health while learning to communicate, and their shared love of cocoa and pancakes. This was a really sweet read. My only complaint is the repetition between the POV changes. I don’t mind a bit of a recap upon switching POV, but the repeated retelling of events from both perspectives slowed the progression of the story a bit. That being said, I still really loved this, especially the ending.
Book 4: Hooked
🥭🥭🥭🥭🥭
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Synopsis:
When Cade Winters, a pregnant omega on the run from Magnar, skids off the road and into the ocean, his car rapidly sinks and he thinks he’s going to die. When a shining mythical creature appears, he’s sure he must be dead. Following a dramatic rescue, he goes into labour on the beach.
Theo, en route back to the Cove, never expected to rescue a wolf nor become responsible for him and his newborn son. Used to a solitary existence, having two new people inserted into his life throws Theo for a loop and forces him to open up in ways he never has before. And when Magnar gets wind that Cade is in the Cove, Theo, Cade, and the baby must flee if they are to remain free.
When a siren and a wolf fall for each other, there’s not much anyone can do about it. You’re not the first… and you won’t be the last.”
My Review:
Oh. My. God. This, along with book 2, is my favourite in this series. In the beginning, Theo is an adorable doofus who says and does the wrong thing, alienating Cade in the process. After being given a stern talking to by his brothers and Nate, Theo does his best to open up and provide for Cade and his newborn. This is a slow burn, and there is much time devoted to the developing relationship, slowed by Cade’s grief for his former partner (pre-Magnar) and the trials and tribulations of early parenthood. There’s travel and adventure, and some amazing history and lore about the sirens and the werewolves. A truly gorgeous read.
Book 5: Caught

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Synopsis:
When Nate invites his childhood friend, Rafael, to the Cove, Magnar takes action. He gives Rafe an important task, and if he fails, Magnar will make Jenny, Rafael’s omega sister, his next mate. The task: steal a siren.
Raised among humans, Skye is uneasy around the other sirens—and werewolves. He comes to the Cove to see Aden, but can’t take his eyes off Rafael. It starts with a kiss. When Rafeal abducts Skye, he could sing to save himself. Instead, Skye goes along with Rafe’s plan…
tw: pregnancy loss (but there’s still the usual HEA)
Skye was supposed to be prey, but Rafe felt like he was the one caught in a trap.”
My Review:
This story is a rollercoaster, and I spent a good chunk of it with my heart in my throat. I was captivated by Rafe’s struggle with morality and the ‘will they or won’t they’ nature of Skye and Rafe’s relationship. There were truly heartbreaking moments (note the tw for pregnancy loss) followed by other moments that sent my heart soaring. This is a truly satisfying conclusion to an amazing series that ties up all loose ends and leaves the reader feeling all warm and fuzzy.
Siren Cove Series Finale: Caught by Claire Cullen
Final Thoughts:
You know that feeling when you’ve had a really good meal and you sit back in your chair feeling fully satisfied? That’s exactly how I felt upon completing the Siren Cove series. I’m so glad I found it (and am eyeballing Claire Cullen’s other series). Siren Cove is one of those series I can see myself coming back to again and again.
Author Stalking (but not in a creepy way):
Claire Cullen is the author of many M/M and M/M/M omegaverse paranormal romance shifter novels.
